Facebook brings Voice Messages & VoIP calling to its Messenger App

With adding two new features to its messenger App, Facebook has released a significant update for its users. The features include Free VoIP calls, and the ability to send short voice messages. The new Facebook messenger update is available for both iOs and Android.

Currently the free VoIP calls are announced for Canada.

By Now, you were only using the FB Messenger to send text messages, emotions and images. But the latest update will add push-to-talk capabilities, and short voice message recording to the Facebook messenger. The Short messages you will record, are immediately sent to your friends. For this purpose all you need to do is keep pressing the record button while you talk, and release it when you are done.

Talking about the latest addition of voice messaging, its as exciting as it could have been, and of course is not groundbreaking. If you are in Canada, you’ll notice a small ”i” icon on the top right corner. This icon indicates the Facebook’s latest voice calling feature. You can use this amazing feature added by Facebook to its messenger for free over WiFi, or from anywhere using your existing data plan. Now whenever you feel like calling a friend for free, all you have to do is open the conversation > Hit the “i” Button > and select free call.
